Full Description
The Spare Wheel / Tyre Carrier is not an add-on. It is a structural upgrade for builders who need to relocate a full-size spare wheel to the rear of the vehicle.
By converting the rear door into a structural mounting interface beyond its OEM intention, the system is engineered to manage the real forces generated by a mounted spare so you can tackle the terrain with confidence.
At the core of the system is our TRAC mounting architecture. Panel-gap brackets and profile-matched stiffener brackets work together to define a controlled load path by spreading forces across reinforced contact zones instead of relying on the door skin and thin panel gap flanges. This approach reduces flex, limits long-term fatigue, and protects the surrounding structure throughout the vehicle’s service life.
Key Features
TRAC System
Distributes forces through the strongest regions of the door structure, reducing stress concentration and improving long-term durability.
High Load Capacity
Rated for tyres up to 37”, providing secure and stable support for oversized spares and aggressive build configurations.
Purpose
Relocates the spare wheel to free valuable underbody space for tanks, storage, or recovery equipment.
Design Considerations
Wheel placement is a key part of the design. The spare is positioned to balance leverage on the door while maintaining clear access to the rear opening and avoiding interference with factory lighting, number plates, and parking sensors where fitted. The result is a carrier that integrates cleanly with the Transit platform rather than obstructing the vehicle’s original functionality.
Confidence, built in. Engineered load control without compromise.
